If you are having sex without using a condom then you are putting yourself at risk of contracting a sexually transmitted infection, as well as generating unwanted pregnancy. Infections are commonly passed on through unprotected vaginal sex, anal sex and oral sex.

STI's are more common across 16 to 28 year olds, suggesting a more casual attitude to sexual health across the age group. Across the board, sexually transmitted infections are on the rise, with Chlamydia being the most common.

As well reducing the risk of STI’s and unplanned pregnancies, condoms play a major role in the fight against HIV and AIDS has infected millions of people worldwide.
